I would encourage everyone to leave Apple feedback regarding the poor treatment of developers and the ridiculous policy that app developers have to pay Apple the full value of any application refunds.
Leave feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Here’s what I had to say:
“As detailed here (http://www.riverturn.com/blog/?p=455) with the VoiceCentral debacle, iPhone application developers are being treated badly. There is an information asymmetry and developers are being treated as third-rate citizens. There is growing discontent among the developer community because of the inconsistency of the application approval process and concern that developers may have to refund customers, should Apple or AT&T decide to stop blessing our application. At this point it’s a foolish business decision to become involved with the iPhone platform. That’s a shame because the iPhone remains the best smart phone on the market and iPhone users deserve the best – but while developers are treated like third rate citizens, users will get third-rate applications.”
